TOS Review – ABC Teach

on November 1, 2009

Everyone Googles, right?  Some people have Google-Fu…  I do not have it.  When I google something approximately ninety zillion different choices come up.  Not one of which is what I REALLY want… so, after spending half my life searching through them, I give up.  Never to have those resources in my greedy greedy hands.

Bring on ABC Teach.

Wanna know what I think about ABC Teach?  Click that link, go to the website, and buy a membership.  Right.  Now.

Still here???

Oh.  You wanna know a little more about it?  Yeesh!  Demanding bunch of people, aren’t you!

So, ABC Teach has so much STUFF.  I’ve been thinking about this review for a while now, and it’s really hard to classify the kinds of things you can get on there.  Not only are there 5000 odd free printables, but if you get a membership, there are even more.

You can print out colouring sheets, number worksheets, math stuff, file folder games, copywork sheets, maps, desk tags, wall posters… You name it, they pretty much have some version of it on there.

My favourite part of ABC Teach is the copywork pages.  Gah.  I have printed out SO MANY of these.  You can tell the program what you want it to write, what FONT you want it in, how many words on a line, whether you want helps (the little arrows that tell you how to make the letters?), pretty much everything.  There are nifty little video tutorials to teach you how to do it all too.  Now, to make your own pages, you do need to have a membership, but without a membership, there are still a lot of great tools and printouts that you can get.

So, you’re probably asking yourself, why get a membership when there are more than 5000 FREE printables?  Well, let me tell you, with a membership, you get more than 30,000 printables!  Not to mention all the stuff you can do with making your own worksheets.

Can you tell that I’m impressed with making your own worksheets?  Seriously.  I took our writing curriculum and put all of the copywork onto sheets that the children could copy out easier.

Here’s what ABC Teach has to say,

Exceptional Features!
  • Over 35,000 pages of printable worksheets, with more materials added each week!
  • Broad range of subjects and levels. Click here to see our list of categories.
  • New materials added weekly to reflect current events and seasonal topics.
  • An extensive educational clip art collection that will add color to your classroom.
  • No advertising on the member site.
  • Customer service representatives who are always available to address your concerns and requests.

Really, go on over there and take the free video tour, there is simply so much to this site that I can’t describe it all here.

I will give one warning though, there are so many interesting worksheets, that you COULD become a bit worksheet happy…

After trying it out for a couple of weeks?  I got myself a membership!  Ja and I both thought that the time saved in being able to find everything in one place, was well worth the cost. Not to mention that they take PayPal… a huge bonus for us non-credit card people.

What is the cost? ((in American Funds))
$40 per user per year / $70 two years — individuals/groups 2-9
$35 per user per year — groups of 10-29
$25 per user per year — groups of 30 or more. **SUPER SITE LICENSE pricing available for groups of 100 or more.

Disclaimer: The only compensation that I received for this review was a free copy of the materials.  I will give honest and truthful reviews, and where concern is warranted, it will be noted.
